"Sprint Car Girls First Month"

The Sprint Car Girls turned a month old today. Wow what a feeling! It’s hard to believe we have come so far in a month.

When I came up with the plan, I thought maybe we would have 5 drivers participate and get about 500 likes total. I never believed we would surpass 500 within the first week! The girls want to give me most of the credit, but that is just not the case. Each driver works equally as hard to make the group what it is. Without them, we truly wouldn’t have a page!

We have had a lot of accomplishments since we got going as well. Brittany Tresch picked up the groups first feature win shortly after we got started. Lexi Adgate and Tiffany Wyzard have both picked up heat wins, while Lexi came oh so close to a feature win past week. Miranda Throckmorton probably became the biggest newsmaker, becoming the first lady to qualify for and finish the Hoosier Hundred Silver Crown race at the Indy Mile. Some of our other girls have been on the receiving end of the bad luck train. Jordan Weaver’s team has been fighting manufacturer related issues through no fault of their own. Ashley Cappetta has had an abysmal month with nothing but issues and hard crashes.  Ashley Lewellen, Sarena Paul and Alysha Ruggles have also taken pretty hard hits in recent weeks. April Wilson has had to fight Mother Nature just to get to race recently, but I know all of these girls will bounce back and find success.

Groups like this can’t flourish without great supporters either! We want to thank Maria Melillo with FK Rod Ends for coming on board with the group and taking a chance on us! They have been a huge help to everyone! Two of our members have been a help as well-Ashley Cappetta with her Up To Speed Graphics and Miranda Throckmorton’s MT’s Race Parts.

Most of all, we want to thank all of our fans for making this happen! Without you guys, we have no one to present the page to. We do this for you guys and we truly appreciate the support! All of the girls and myself truly enjoy interacting with everyone and it makes this whole deal fun, having such a great group of members and fans to share it with us.

We have no plans of stopping anytime soon. We only aim to grow and bring more new developments along. Eventually, we hope to add a few more members, but those we add have to be willing to participate and interact, within the group and on the page. I wish people could see some of our behind the scenes conversations! We truly have fun with this group!

The one thing I hope everyone takes away from this is- these ten members are not girl sprint car drivers, but rather amazing sprint car personalities and talents who happen to be girls!

I just want to thank everyone again for believing in the Sprint Car Girls idea!
